Escort Cabriolets have survived well in comparison to their tin-top counterparts — part in thanks to the strong appeal of innumerable limited editions.

Arguably most desirable was the All-Blue of February 1990, an extra-special run-out model packed with stacks of extras. Based on an XR3i drop-top, the All-Blue was finished in Pacifica Blue paintwork, wearing an RSTurbo bodykit and 15 inch alloys, a blue electrically-powered roof and Shadow Grey leather upholstery with red and blue stripes.

Inexplicably known here as the SE500, more than 600 All-Blues were built for Ford by Karmann in Germany, known as the Highlight
