BY DEFINITION, TOURING off-grid means that you have no electric hook-up, Wi-Fi or those other luxuries we’ve come to expect. Most often, a lack of campsite facilities will also require you to rely solely on the washroom in your caravan.

The payback for these little ‘hardships’ is immense, however. The best off-grid sites are small, wild and set in the most extraordinary locations, where a large, commercial campsite simply wouldn’t be allowed to operate.
