LETTER OF THE MONTH
INTERESTING ANGLE
I read the letter from Russell Simpkins [Letters, Issue 438]. What he needs is to get hold of an old book called The Painter’s Secret Geometry by Charles Bouleau. It was first published in 1963, but reprinted since, so should still be available.
This book explains in great detail the geometric underpinnings of lots of paintings from medieval to modern. I’ve been trying to put this into effect in my own paintings, but it’s not easy!
