The colours of winter

In the winter of 2021 we were in lockdown again – unable to leave our local area and required to work from home. I found it a really challenging time emotionally, as I worried about loved ones and wondered if the situation was ever going to improve. I didn’t have flowers to paint in the studio and garden as I had enjoyed in spring lockdown, but nature came to my rescue once again. When a cold snap descended, bringing with it fog, frosts and snow, I saw the little lane outside my house together with neighbouring houses and gardens as if for the first time.
