This past summer, Miz and I took the grandchildren to the county fair. Fortunately, we still have a county fair. Hogs, steers, chickens, rabbits, goats and the like. Now, these grandkids are in essence urbanites, although they do have a passing familiarity with rural America as that’s where their mother was raised, and where her parents still live. While Miz and I no longer keep any livestock, the neighbors have the prerequisite cows, horses, chickens, pigs and such.
