A taste of Poland

IT SEEMS almost impossible these days to walk along a parade of shops and not come across at least one selling food previously thought of here as ‘foreign’. Unsurprisingly, shops selling Polish foods are often amongst them.

I say unsurprisingly because, currently, there are approximately 800,000 people of Polish nationality or origin living here in the UK. Furthermore, it is claimed that the Polish language is the second-most spoken language in England (third overall in the UK) with one per cent of the population able to speak Polish.
