THE CLIMATE QUESTION

ndia has the largest livestock population in the world (over 535.8 million), as per the 20th Livestock Census, 2019. A study by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi as saying that the livestock sector in India has the potential to increase surface temperatures by 0.69 millikelvin over a 20-year period. This would be about 14 per cent of the increase caused by the global livestock sector.
