TT is a testament to Sunny Edwards’ adaptability and boxing brain that a mandatory defence against Jayson Mama in Dubai (Saturday, December 11) got easier and easier with each passing round. What started uncomfortably soon became manageable and eventually became so straightforward for Edwards that the only discomfort was watching Mama still try.

In the end, despite a competitive first couple of rounds, Edwards ran away with it, taking a unanimous decision (117-110, 118-109, 118-109) and retaining his No.2 world ranking and IBF flyweight belt in the process.
