What’s wrong with a tune-up job?
“The gasoline….”
That answer came swiftly from Quaker City Motor Parts Co. of Allentown and Bangor, Pa. Its advice arrived at service stations and repair shops in the form of a bulletin, and as a member of the National Automotive Parts Association (NAPA).
That was a serious problem, as cars made before World War II lugged their way through several years of war, rationing, restricted stocks of new tires and fewer repair personnel due to the military draft.
