FOR THE FANS! Why Far Cry 6 renews the genre FARCRY6

ou play as Dani Roja, a former army man turned guerrilla on the fictional island of Yara. Loosely based on Cuba, Yara is run by the vicious dictator Antón Castillo, brilliantly played by Breaking Bad’s own super bad Giancarlo Esposito. As per previous Far Cry entries, you are required to break down Antón’s various lieutenants and liberate each area in the name of Libertad, your fierce and fiery guerrilla movement. Unfortunately, this is where the game starts suffering, as the mission structure follows the exact same route as those from the previous 4 Far Cry games, so everything feels very familiar. Meet an NPC, they give you a mission and you go and blow stuff up, then meet a new NPC and do the same thing. You still need to liberate each area by doing missions and taking over various forts and enemy bases, exactly the same as the original formula from Far Cry 3. Now if you’re a fan of that formula and want more of it, then Far Cry 6 is perfect for you, but for people hoping for a change in direction or something new, they will be sadly disappointed as Far Cry 6 does not deviate from the
