Right to the wire

There is one aspect of the countryside that is the bane of every gundog owner’s life – barbed wire. I doubt there is a shoot in the country that doesn’t have some of it festooning the tops of the fences and walls. I rarely get through a season without one of the dogs catching themselves on the stuff.
