Q My images taken in mist are always slightly too dark. What do I need to do?

A Mist or fog can help you create some wonderfully atmospheric images, but it can be tricky to expose for. Depending on the nature of your scene, you’ll need to experiment a little with your exposure, but as a general rule of thumb it often pays to use at least one stop of positive exposure compensation to brighten the scene. With no exposure compensation, your images will be a little dull, and the mist will appear much darker than you remember it at the time.

As always with anything to do with exposure, reviewing your histogram is a great idea. You must ensure that you have brighter tones showing
