The Pixel 6 Pro (see p70) is Google’s headline act, but if you can live without its 4x optical zoom and larger screen then there are many good reasons to choose the more modest Pixel 6 – 250 of them, in fact, because the 128GB version undercuts its bigger brother by £250.

Both phones look striking, with a two-tone rear split by a horizontal camera block spanning the width of the phone. It’s’s Geordi La Forge inevitable, but it means the Pixel 6 won’t lie flat on a desk; the sizable camera bump causes a ramp-like inclination.
