YOU WILL NEED

■ Sirdar Happy Cotton (100% cotton, 20g/43m), 5 balls of Liquorice (775), 2 balls of Shower (762), 1 ball of Flamingo (760)
■ A 2.75mm (US C/2) hook
■ 2 looped glass safety eyes, 10mm (available from www.mohairbearmakingsupplies.co.uk)
■ Toy stuffing
■ 140cm craft wire, 2mm thick
■ Long-nose pliers
■ All-purpose adhesive

MEASUREMENTS

Humboldt Penguin meas approx 32cm (12½in) tall

NOTES

Penguin is decorative and not suitable for children.

Row 1 (WS) 3dc in second ch from hook, turn. [3 sts]

Row 2 (RS) Ch1 (does not count as st throughout), dc in each st to end, turn.

Row 3 Ch1, 1dc, 2dc in next st, 1dc, turn. [4 sts]

Row 4 Ch1, 1dc, 2dc in next 2 sts, 1dc, turn. [6 sts]

Row 5 Ch1, (1dc, 2dc in next st, 1dc) across to end. [8 sts]
