Every year, bike manufacturers surprise and delight us with new (and updated) bikes. From sports to touring to adventure and cruising, there are great bikes in every category, for every budget, for every rider, regardless of their age, size or ability.

We looked for the most exciting new (or significantly upgraded) machines across different classes, bikes that go head-to-head against the existing models already in showrooms. Keep in mind we’re not saying these are the best in class, but they might be the best bike for you. These are all bikes you can buy now, although COVID-19 has created problems with manufacturing and shipping across the world, so you might not be able to get exactly what you want, in the colour you want, exactly when you want it.

MEGA BLASTER — SUZUKI HAYABUSA

Just the third generation of Hayabusa in over 20 years of production, Suzuki’s 1340cc rocketship is an excellent piece of kit. It’s a sportsbike, first and foremost. Detractors say it’s too big, too heavy, but fans know that extra weight, combined with quality suspension, means the Hayabusa can soak up the bumps and potholes of Australia’s appalling roads at speeds most racetrack
