THE SMALL TOWN of Madisonville on Louisiana’s beautiful Northshore got not one but two exciting restaurants when Tchefuncte’s opened during the summer of 2020. Executive Chef Michael Gottlieb was brought onto the project as a consultant, but as time progressed and a friendship with the property’s owners deepened, he took the plunge to run Tchefuncte’s—a high-end restaurant—and its casual downstairs sister, the Anchor.
