o stranger to iconic franchises is Japanese animation studio Sola Digital Arts, which worked on Ghost In The Shell: SAC_2045 and Star Wars: Visions, and has now partnered with Adult Swim, Crunchyroll, Alcon Entertainment and The narrative takes place between the original by Ridley Scott and the sequel by Denis Villeneuve, with the action unfolding in Los Angeles 2032 as a lethally skilled young woman suffering from amnesia confronts her violent past while trying to discover her true identity. “Alcon picked Sola to work with, as they had had a great experience with them previously on the Black Out 2022 anime short, directed by Shinichiro Watanabe,” explains Jason DeMarco, SVP Anime & Action Series/Longform for Warner Bros Animation and Cartoon Network Studios, who was the development executive. “Watanabe suggested that if Sola were on board for the series, he would like to be involved. And I don’t say ‘no’ to Watanabe!”
