Ten years ago, during a UEFA TV report on Milan legend, Paolo Maldini, his former team-mate, Clarence Seedorf, was asked about the possibility that either of Maldini’s two sons, Christian or Daniel, might follow in their recently retired father’s footsteps: “It’s in their genes. I would say that they have talent, especially the little one [ten-year-old Daniel],” responded Seedorf.
