There are so many contenders for my favourite Christmas song but only one winner that stands head and shoulders above everything else.

I could have gone for Cliff Richard’s Mistletoe and Wine or Slade’s Merry Xmas Everybody; even Bing Crosby’s White Christmas, that has sold more than 50 million copies, would be in the frame, but for me it has to be that most wonderful classic, Silent Night.
