Homemade shock absorber compressors
I BOUGHT A USED PAIR OF KONI DIAL-A- Ride shock absorbers for my Morini. I spotted that the adjuster ring on one of the shocks had a crack in it, but the seller very kindly rummaged around in a box of spares and found another usable example and sent.
The problem was going to be fitting it. To get the old adjuster off and the new one on meant removing the spring, and to remove the spring I needed to compress it, so that the top collet ring could be taken off.
