His career of more than 30 years has taken him from the woodlands of Sussex to the rainforests of Borneo and everywhere in between. He’s worked with organizations including the Royal Horticultural Society and the Field Studies Council, and co-wrote one of the first text books on digital photography. Gary lives in East London and works as a chef in a five-star hotel. He has always been into photography, but only made the jump to Nikon a few years ago. Before his star turn in N-Photo, his claim to fame was a successful run on ITV game show The Chase, where he used his winnings to purchase a Nikon AF-S DX Micro 85mm f/3.5G ED VR. Ebernoe Common is an ancient woodland in West Sussex and a Site of Special Scientific Interest. According to Natural England its 157 hectares house nationally important collectives of woodland breeding birds, bats, lichens and, of course, fungi. Seven threatened species of the latter can be found within its network of oak and beech trees, so it’s no wonder wildlife and natural history photographer Adrian Davies has been visiting
