    This year and specifically the weekend of the Southport National marks a significant personal milestone as it marks my 40th year of attending scooter rallies. Back in 1981 my destination was Colwyn Bay but Southport also holds a special place in my memory. Having grown up nearby I passed seemingly endless summers there, with mischief aplenty being had in the seaside town.
