Before you begin: Things you need to know about lustres:

■ Lustres are quite noxious – you must work in a very well-ventilated space when applying them.

■ Cross-contamination of colours happens easily – you must keep a separate brush for each colour. Wrap some masking tape around each brush, with the name of the colour it’s been used for written on it in marker pen.

■ The same applies to the thinners – keep a small separate container of thinners for each lustre used and write the details on the
