ne of the first tasks we face when learning a new piece is to organise a fingering that suits our individual hand size and shape. We carefully select fingering to help us recreate the piece with the sounds, phrasing and touches the music requires with the maximum of ease and comfort. It’s important to take time over this stage, experimenting with different possibilities over the course of a few days until the right fingering comes.
