Pine marten miracle

To the delight of conservationists, pine martens have returned to the south of England. New populations have been recorded on wildlife cameras hidden in the lush woodlands of the New Forest. These rare mammals were once widespread throughout Britain, but habitat loss reduced their populations to fragmented areas in the north of the UK. Forestry England will continue to monitor populations, identifying individuals by the uniquely shaped cream bib on their neck.
