Brutal drums and smart Sequencer: Perkons HD-01 by Erica Synths
Perkons HD-01 is the new drum machine from Latvian sound designers Erica Synths. This four-voice hybrid device acts, on the one hand, with a digital sound engine regarding the oscillators; and on the other hand, the multimode filters with high-pass, bandpass and low-pass filters are analog. In addition, there is a distortion unit. There are eight control knobs per voice and each voice has its own output, as well as individual sends and returns for supplying external effects. The drum sounds can be archived as a kit. There are up to 64 memory locations for doing so. In addition, Perkon‘s HD-01 has an analog BBD delay, an opto-compressor and a four-track sequencer. The latter can be used to create variation in the sequences with the Probability parameter. Modulation is handled by a morphable LFO with eight modulation destinations. For connecting external devices, each track has its own trigger input, which also reacts dynamically in terms of velocity.
Perkon‘s HD-01 is scheduled for delivery before the end of 2021 at a price of 1,650 Euro (plus VAT).
