Disaster strikes the Street CORO GOES DOWN THE DRAIN!

Being an actor on Coronation Street is not exactly the most physically demanding of jobs. Most of their time seems to be spent gossiping in the corner shop or downing pints in the Rovers Return pub.

But a group of cast members from the long-running show recently had to step outside of their comfort zones to film dramatic scenes in which sinkholes opened up in the ground, sending residents plummeting into the rain-swollen storm drains below.

For the actors, that meant long hours submerged in water tanks and stunts such as dropping through trapdoors – and they loved it.

Julia Goulding (who plays Shona Ramsey), Sally Ann Matthews (Jenny Connor) and Sally Carman (Abi Franklin) weren’t fazed by the challenging scenes.
