THE BTCC SUPPORTING CAST WITH THE BIG FUTURES
There is no time to rest at a British Touring Car Championship meeting. Aside from the headlining tin-tops, the support race undercard can often outstrip its bigger brother in terms of on-track action.
And, as usual, this season has thrown up a host of stars of the present and of the future. From Dan Cammish’s tense win in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB to the continuing upward trend of Adam Smalley’s career with Ginetta Supercup glory, there was intrigue throughout.
Mix in the four-abreast action of the Ginetta Junior division, a feat often mirrored by the Mini Challenge, and the thrills were endless. Matthew Rees marched to the British F4 championship too to mark himself out as a single-seater star of the future.
Here, we look back at a memorable season.
GINETTA JUNIOR
If there is one series with a reputation for unpredictability and chaotic races it is Ginetta Junior. And yet there was a feature of this season that was anything but unpredictable: Aston Millar finishing in the top six.
