Hello Baking Heaven friends and a very jolly welcome this Christmas issue. I hope you’re as excited as I am for the best season for baking – it’s time to deck the halls!

I love the whole build up to Christmas, the main event and of course Boxing Day and beyond. For me, baking is very much about sharing and being together, so this holiday season is the ultimate time to really go to town and create some lovely holiday bakes and, of course, there is lots of eating to do!

For this issue I’ve included a really simple but effective Christmas tree traybake. I’ve really been into traybakes all year – I love the nostalgia about a simple layer of delicious sponge with some frosting on top, cut up into little squares. My festive tree is chocolate mint flavour, one of my favourite flavour combos!
