    The highly respected name of Pierce-Arrow branded thousands of cars over the course of 38 years and then vanished. What was left behind were survivors of a bold, halcyon moniker and a supremely proud history by one of the great automobile manufacturers. When the mighty name of Duesenberg was yet to be applied to a make, and as the car industry graduated to engines of more than two cylinders, the Pierce mystique was being built car by car, and sale by sale.
