MAYNARD AND CARELESS DRIVERS
Whilst, as usual, I agree with every word and sentiment that our learned sage records in his column, I feel there is room for observation.
I note he records that ‘we’ don’t do all the inconsiderate actions he describes when ‘we’ drive, and I hope that we don’t and, personally, I genuinely try not to, but as a life-long motorcyclist approaching Maynard’s vintage, I both cringe and deplore the standard of MOTORCYCLING I witness.
Living close to a country main A-road, I've lost count of the supposed mature, experienced riders of extremely powerful machines that appear to be attached to the bumper of the vehicle in front of them that has less than half their available performance.
With poor road positioning and little chance for correct observations, they blind other road users with over-powerful, ill-adjusted head/auxiliary lights and leave a lasting noisy, aggressive impression
