WINES FOR CELEBRATION

y the time the holiday period comes round this year, the team at Towers will be ready for it – and I’m sure we are not alone. Despite the uncertainties of the year, there’s something really comforting and affirming about planning a family feast, and of course, the choice of accompanying drinks. We have three sparkling Italian wines to fit your budget including two affordable and one rather special pink fizz, made in wines as well as thoughtful gifts – the classy gold bottle of La Gioiosa doesn’t even need to be gift wrapped! We also have a wonderful example of that peerless jewel from the north-east of Italy – Amarone della Valpolicella – which is a dry red wine of immense concentration and power, and two rather special wines from Tuscany: a Brunello di Montalcino from Tenute Silvio Nardi and an extraordinary Tuscan white, Poggio Alle Gazze dell’Ornellaia. All three of these wines pair perfectly with the kind of indulgent food we tend to eat only on special occasions – like Christmas and New Year. They are also of sufficient distinction and quality to be given as special gifts to wine lovers who can appreciate their extraordinary provenance. Happy holidays everyone!
