IT'S ALL ABOUT TEAMWORK

This year’s North Island Spirited Women’s event kicked off on the beach at Matapouri, northeast of Whangarei. This increasingly popular all-women’s adventure race has run annually since its maiden event in Rotorua in 2016. It moved to Taupo in 2017, Ohope in 2018, Gisborne in 2019 and was scheduled for Hawkes Bay in 2020 before the Covid 19 pandemic put the country into lockdown and saw the event cancelled.

So, there was much excitement about the return
