Mud, sweat and gears will be flying in Australia’s Top End on the first weekend in May. The legendary Kamfari enduro (four-hour mud race) is turning 50 and you are all invited. If you’re up for a challenge, contact the awesome team at the Kamfari Facebook page who can help you work out logistics to get yourself and your bike to the race. The Kamfari is held at Cox Peninsula, which is about an hour’s drive outside Darwin, Northern Territory. The Darwin Motorcycle Club will assist with information regarding accommodation options, vehicle hire, bike setup and interstate transport tips to make an awesome adventure to suit your budget. It’s not as hard as you think and with borders now open, it’s time to ride.
C&R Constructions is on board yet again as the major sponsor and to make your trip to the NT worthwhile, prize money has doubled! Yes, $5k is up for grabs in both the motorcycle and quad classes. That’s over a thousand an hour just for riding your bike. Second place grabs a nice $2500 while third will not be disappointed with $1250. A new “Masters Class” for over-50s will grab the interest of the chronologically challenged riders who will be fighting it out to gain bragging rights and a trophy to take home.
Bikes and quads each race on a separate track and although “muddiest Enduro” is their motto, the Kamfari has enough single and twin track to give you a break and cover some distance. Spectators are well catered for, so bring
