A while ago, I described my first encounter with Arabian horses, which happened in 1971 at the Ismer Stud in Germany. For a few years, this stud farm – still going strong today and run by the third generation of the family – was the only one I visited on a regular basis. Following that first, literally life-changing visit in 1971, I went back there a year later to catch up with the mares and foals.
