s I sit here writing, the world’s oldest and largest equestrian fair, the Equitana, is drawing to a close. It was held for the 25th time this year, and I have been to each one of them. I still remember the excitement of the very first event in 1972 and the many years that followed; and I feel somewhat disillusioned today, because the whole thing has developed from a celebration of the wonderful world of horses into a regular trade fair. You can buy all sorts of stuff there, but you won’t find nearly as many actual horses as during those first wonderful years. Especially, you won’t find any Arabians.
