During the summer of 2016, I went for a long walk. I followed secondary roads and hiked the coastlines of New Brunswick and the Gaspé Peninsula, starting in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, and finishing 60 days later in Quebec City. I had completed long Maritime hikes before,, won the Pottersfield Prize for creative non-fiction. I chose the title because countless friendly Maritimers pulled over and offered me rides when they spotted me on the gravel shoulder with my huge backpack, and this phrase (in both French and English) became a familiar theme song.
