PaisteColor Sound 900 Series Red box-set cymbals

PRICE: £569

Paiste are no strangers to coloured cymbals, with 1984’s Color Sound 5 in red, black, blue and green originally rustled up in response to the newly arrived MTV era. The 5s lasted only a couple of years, but Paiste has offered the possibility of colouring its cymbals by special order since then, if you’re plucky enough. Other series have also appeared occasionally – like the black Visions, inspired by Terry Bozzio (1994-1999) and Joey Jordison’s Black Alphas (2008-2014).
