Few will argue that the Bugatti Veyron coined the name hypercar when it was launched in 2005. This immortal masterpiece of technology, with a top speed of 255mph, took the supercar rulebook and tore it to pieces. Besides the usual 0-60mph race, it invented an entirely new category of speed - the race beyond 248mph. In the following years, the challenge to eclipse the Veyron’s speed and pass the mythical 300mph has seen a few bespoke car companies – the type that makes a handful of cars a year - forge their reputation on providing their customers with the fastest car in the world!
