Life to the Max

Imagine finding your vision steadily deteriorating due to multiple eye conditions — including retinitis pigmentosa and macular edema. Several medical procedures are done to stabilise your vision, but it continues to worsen.

That’s what happened to Kathleen Flanagan of Qheberha / Port Elizabeth. But instead of feeling sorry for herself, she embraced the support of her running friends to continue running.

In March this year, she finished the gruelling (and in some places, technical) Addo 44km in 11 hours with the help of amazing guide Octavia Boshoff, also of PE.
