In a format where the contestants are unknowns, the attention is all about which stars have been recruited to coach and mentor the aspirants. This 21st season of sees debutante Ariana Grande take the position of Nick Jonas on the panel, while Ed Sheeran gets an upgrade from his season five slot as “battle adviser” to be the mega-mentor in the show’s knockout stages (presumably, he’ll be Zooming in from the UK aft er his Covid-19 diagnosis). Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend all return and Carson Daly hosts.
