Ranieri…Watford’s 15th manager in the last ten years

Watford appointed CLAUDIO RANIERI as manager, shortly after firing Xisco Munoz from the post. The Italian coach made his first signing just days later, capturing Cameroon defender NICOLAS NKOULOU on a free transfer following his release by Torino.

In the Championship, Nottingham Forest appointed STEVE COOPER as boss after Chris Hughton was sacked following a poor start to the season.

In Spain, former Watford manager QUIQUE SANCHEZ FLORES returned to Getafe to replace Michel.

In Italy, Milan signed free agent goalkeeper ANTONIO MIRANTE after an injury to No.1 Mike Maignan, Venezia captured former Manchester United and Argentina goalkeeper SERGIO ROMERO, and Spezia snapped up AURELIEN NGUIAMBA after he left Ligue 2 side Nancy in the summer.

Villarreal signed Ivory Coast right-back following his release by Tottenham Hotspur.
