HIGHLIGHTS OF THE PROPOSED UP FILM CITY
he proposed Film City in UP is being hyped as a multi-level studio on the lines of Hollywood’s Paramount Studios and UK’s Pinewood Studios. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has earmarked 1,000 acres in Gautam Budh Nagar for the proposed Film City. The anticipated setup will have indoor and outdoor shooting areas. The idea is to create sets of villages, forts, historical places and urban and rural environments from India and abroad. The setup will also have dedicated blue screen and green screen areas, pre and post-production labs, SFX studios, an animation studio and a dedicated data centre. The aim is to provide a comprehensive filmmaking experience - a film unit can enter with just the cast and crew and return with a finished product. To facilitate that, there will be five-star, three-star and budget hotels erected on the premises.
