NEW CHIFF, CLAYTON MCMILLAN KEEN TO MAKE HIS MARK

CLAYTON MCMILLAN’S just happy he got to sleep-in this morning.

It’s Tuesday, the day-off on game week for a Friday fixture and McMillan is enjoying a slower start to the day.

“I made the most of it and slept in until seven o’clock,” he laughs, “I reckon if I get a good, quality six hours, I’m doing pretty well.

“I think it’s probably just some bad habits picked up from my policing days where you work shift work - sometimes you’re sleeping at night, sometimes in the middle of the day, and that’s not really that conducive to creating good sleeping habits and unfortunately I’ve transferred that to my coaching career.”

Coaches working absurd hours is nothing new. Super Bowl winning coach Sean McVay is known for arriving at the NFL franchise's facility when the moon still shields the sun and leaving when the blanket of the night has long-been laid on the bed of the City of Angels.
