ETHAN EWING THE ENIGMA

Ethan Ewing has never seen the snow. He owns a dog, loves rugby league and heavy metal, and wants to win a world title. The Stradbroke local also has to be a contender for the sharpest rail game in the world right now. But other than that, how much do we really know about him? As one of Australia’s sickest young surfing talents, Ethan has managed to keep himself out of the spotlight. No notorious partying, a pedestrian Instagram, and only a smattering of media attention, means Ethan has managed to stay busy in the background, until he was ready to return to the world stage. But let’s digress a little here.

The theory that people invariably become a product of their environment seems to explain a lot about Ethan’s reserved demeanour and low profile. Those who have visited the serene shores of North Stradbroke Island know how chill things are off the mainland. The island lifestyle and laidback community that he hails from has no doubt shaped his levelheadedness and humble attitude.
