Valerian

Valeriana officinalis (valerian) is a perennial flowering plant native to Europe and Asia with perfumed flowers in summer that attract many fly species. It has been used as a medicine at least since the times of the ancient Greeks and Romans, where it was described by both Hippocrates and Galen as a remedy for insomnia.
