What is the difference between photographing food and people?
There are exceptions, but with people, you want to photograph them with front, open lighting. People want to appear flawless and hide wrinkles and blemishes. With food, it’s quite the opposite. You want to rake the light across the surface to show textures and highlights, to bring out all those little nooks and crannies.
