After hours on the road, I finally pull into our meeting place – a campsite deep in the heart of the Lake District. It’s flanked by huge, imposing fells, which I know I’ll more than likely be clawing my way up over the coming days. Not on just any old bike, but one that’s loaded with the latest in wireless gearing and automated suspension control. That, for the most part, is why I’m here at the invitation of SRAM – to put this cutting-edge tech to the test on some of the most rugged trails the UK has to offer, and see what it does (or doesn’t) bring to the experience.
