Moto Guzzi V7
THE MOTO GUZZI 850 V7 SPECIAL looks like a real motorcycle. Apart from the fuel injection, it could be a Guzzi from any period since the late 1970s – apart from the superlative finish. Unlike many a Japanese retro, there are no pipes, no wires and no radiator to clutter.
It has an ordinary set of right-way-up forks, two clocks with needles, one disc, a round headlight and a ‘normal’ 18 inch front wheel. There’s lots of chrome, spoked wheels, and well-applied paint and graphics. All of these things tick my boxes. The suede-ish seat is a discrete shade of dark brown, but I could live with that.
So far, so good. The footrests are perfectly positioned. The seat isn’t too high to sling a leg easily over, too. The ‘bars are just about the right height and width, and the mirrors are in the right position for comfortable cruising and do not blur.
