When it comes to growing your own fruit and veg, most of us must grow or have had a go at growing potatoes at one time or another. The fact they are easy to grow and you get a large harvest is a bonus for new gardeners, plus the fact you can get different flavours and colours when you grow your own compared with shop-bought ones is great for us all.
